"Our story with Niagara Dog Sports and Marissa began about a year ago. (2025) We signed up for agility classes to give an outlet for our dog-reactive Aussie, hoping to build her confidence. She was attacked as a pup and can became reactive, depending on energy levels so we weren’t sure how she would do in a group setting. We did a one-on-one consultation with Marissa where she evaluated Piper and was confident that she would do well. Marissa and the whole group have been nothing but supportive and accommodating of both us and our dog, giving us space when and where we needed it by keeping us apart from dogs that would trigger her, to an extra hand if needed to help her feel safe and be successful.

Marissa’s knowledge, experience, drive and enthusiasm (and especially the love for the dogs) is unmatched. It’s clear she loves what she does, and the dogs love that too (and her!). We have made so much positive progress from where we started to where we are today. From having to work on a long line with random outbursts, to now running agility, learning flyball, being respective of the other dogs in the group, and learning to focus on her own thing has been nothing short of humbling. We didn’t ever think we would be where we are. We are looking at (hopefully) even branching out to learn disc this summer! They say “It takes a village…” and I’m thankful to have Marissa and Niagara Dog Sports as part of that village on our journey."
